I have a web page with a page title that displays correctly when the page loads.
The page has a bookmark link to an area farther down on the page. When this link is clicked, the page loses the title and is replaced by the web address. This has happened on IE 5.0 but in 6.0 the page title appears.

Does anyone know why this happens or has experienced this themselves? Allan Jagos

Can you post the code for creating the bookmark? "The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us"

lol, I thought you meant setting a bookmark (favourite) in IE. Sorry.

Hummza, I've noticed this before, but never really been concerned by it. Best guess is that the browser is intrepreting it like a link, but since it is the same page, but not actually reloading it, is displays the URL, instead of the title. It may actually be a small style bug, which they fixed in IE6. Did that make any sense? "The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us"

Is it a big problem? I rarely look at the title unless I have a lot of windows open and need to find one on my taskbar. Tracy Dryden

Not a big problem. But when I am asked why something happens I need to at least say why it happens. You know how it is... ;) Allan Jagos
