I have an internal ADSL modem that is configured as a RAS device (but doesnt appear in th emodems section on the control panel ) (using NT4).

The modem works fine, but consistentlt disconnects after 6-7 mins of no use.

I thought this sounded like a disconnect after Idle time setting on a dial up modem, but I cant find anywhere to set it.

On the phone book entry there are login and user options that have a disconnect time that is set to 999999 seconds.

I Have scanned the Registry for the ADSL modem name and DisconnectIdleTime, and found a few settings that look like defaults all set to 20 mins.

I have checked with my ISP and they claim not to be doing it. Does anyone have any ideas of where to go next, short of buying an external router.

Also ment to mention that the modem stays up quite happily when in use and doesnt appear to be going down because of bad packets or any corruption. The link to the server remains in place it is just the RAS connection to the ISP that is disconnecting.
