I am trying to install an intermediate certificate for my dedicated server. I have tried several times with no success. After I install the plug in and save the console file.
I then go to IIS 6 and attempt to install the certificate but it gives me only the option to replace or remove the existing primary certificate.
I notice when you back to the console the only way to view the intermediate certificates that was just imported is to open the console file (in this case Console1.msc) is this why the wizard never goes into pending mode?? Below are the steps I took that was provided for me by my dedicated svr provider.
1. From the Start menu, click Run....
2. Type mmc and click OK. The Microsoft Management Console (Console) opens.
3. From the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap In.
4. Select Certificates, and then click Add.
5. Select Computer Account, and then click Next.
6. Select Local Computer, then click Finish.
7. Click OK to close Add or Remove Snap-ins.
8. In the Console window, expand the Certificates folder.
9. Right-click Intermediate Certification Authorities, mouse-over All Tasks, then click Import.
10. In the Certificate Import Wizard, click Next.
11. Click Browse to find the certificate file.
12. In the bottom right corner, change the file extension filter to *.p7b.
13. Select the appropriate certificate file and click Open.
14. Click Next.
15. Select Place all certificates in the following store.
