The server seems to be working fine then out of no where it Intermittently Cannot Browse Network Computers. However, you can browse to a shared folder. For example, (\\servername) will not work but (\\servername\share) will work. Rebooting the server resolves this issue. Has anyone seen this issue before? What could be causing my problem?

Thanks for any help...

Are you using WINS? WINS tends to do that, if you have no machines with an OS older than 2000 you really don't need WINS. Had the same problem on our network, turned off WINS and now no more problem.

Don't use WINS on the desktops, or kill the WINS Server on the whole network?

I killed WINS on the DC's (they're also doing DHCP and DNS) since all of our desktops are DHCP, after a reboot they shouldn't have WINS. You might have to manually remove WINS from static servers, since we don't generally use our servers to browse to browse other systems we've only been removing them as we need but our desktops can see them.

I am not sure why WINS creates the problem, a friend suggested it to me about a year ago but since we removed it, it seems to have cleared up the issue. Good luck!

Cheers
Rob
