This may be software but I've read that a lot about the hibernate function has to do with the drive.
I'm running Windows98 SE on an IBM Thinkpad. The hibernate function (suspend or hibernate) worked fine for a while then abruptly stopped working. I'd get a short tone when I pressed the appropriate key sequence. I checked through and followed the on-board help/diagnostics about turning the feature on/off, allocating space for it, etc., but to no effect. Then months later, it started working again for a month or so. Now it's not working again.
Any ideas?
