I will try to give all the details I can...

The Background: I have 2 servers, a web server and a mail server. The web server has a form that automatically mails out to the mail server when it is submitted. Both servers are on the same subnet.

The problem: The IP connection between the two is broken on a fairly regular basis - a few times per hour for a few minutes each time.

Things I have tired: swapped NICs, different switch, different Patch cables

Other Info that may or may not help: Netbeui works fine regardless of whether I can ping the IP. I can ping either server from different subnets successfully when I am unable to ping within the subnet.

Some ping statistics/examples:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you want more info, let me know.

Thanks!

If NetBEUI is working - it isn't Layer1. You could reinstall the IP stack on both machines.
