I have a BCM50 with 4 VOIP Trunks between it and the main site of a BCM400. Calls sometimes sound (1) perfect, sometimes (2) the usual VOIP sound, very tolorable, just if you know what to look for, you know it is VOIP, And somtimes (3) the quality is there but there is a slight hiss of static in the background. I am running it through a Point to Point T1 which is shared with their data and just incase it was a QOS issue I disconnected all their PC's on the remote site from the network (only 6 of them) and still have the issue. Does anyone have a suggestion. I will get the exact silence detection, Jitter Buffer settings shortly but just so you know they are running in G729 codec mode.

If you're using silence suppression, that might explain the "static" noise. The system will inject white noise on the receiving end to cover up for the fact that there is silence on the line so the end user doesn't hear "dead silence" and think the call was disconnected.

I will turn this off and try, this may be it, BUT it usually will be linked to the other parties talking like, when they talk it will have "static" over top, but related to conversation. I will update after I change and see the results.
