I have an Option 81c RLS 25. I occasionally get complaints from users in our call center (~250 people) that they can't make conference calls. Of course by the time I get to their desk I can make them without any problem. Is there a limit to the number of conference calls a switch can make at any given moment? Is there some kind of hardware or software limitation threshold that we could be reaching, like running out of certain ports or trunks (we have 96 LD trunks and 72 locals)? I'm not too keen on the hardware side of things so any insight into this is greatly appreicated.

With 250+ people 96 LD trunks 72 local plus an IVR I would say you need another Conf Card.

There limets on how many conf can be made at the same time.

What is the Part number on your conf card and how many do you have in the PBX.

There are two CONF/TDS cards in our switch:

NT8D17EA RLSE 01

NT8D17FA RLSE 04

Would an insufficient number of conference cards be something a traffic study would identify? We're having one done this week by an outside company in anticipation of a Symposium implementation. Thanks,

Greg

Yes a traffic study will address the issue OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS
