I am working on a MICS and this problem started within the past week or so. Sometimes when the receptionist attempts to transfer a call, either to an extension or directly to voice mail, they will get the not in service message on the display but the ext does exist. it eventually lets the call through after multiple attempts. This also happens when she tries to park the calls. This happens about 3-4 times per hour and is frustrating since the call volume is high. Did this ever happen to anyone else and if so, what's the deal?

Is anyone else having problems transferring calls? Have you swapped out her phone just to make sure you aren't looking at a phone problem?

Is reception using CAP auto dials for this function? I've seen bad wire connections for both power to CAP and KSU to set show similar results. The other situation that I've seen that gets the results you have described is a poorly seated CO card. I had a terrible long intermittent problem with a reception position running two CAPs where the phone would go into reset on outside calls. I vigorously reseated all CO cards and havn't had a problem in 6 months. ????

If the attendant is handling a high volume of calls you might need to add an extra intercom button to that phone. Certain tasks, such as tranferring a caller to a mailbox, will take multiple voice paths to complete the operation. Brian Cox
