Good Morning,

So much for the nice stuff!

I have an XP Pro workstation that will intermittently fail to execute the login script administered from a Server 2003/AD Group Policy VB script.

The same user can login on a different w/s, no problem. I can login as Administrator on her w/s, no problem. Because of the user's setup, it is a lot of work to create a new profile, but when I do it will login for some time, tnen not.

I can't seem to find anything wrong with the profile, no virus, trojan, nothing.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards,
David.

What if you stick a backup logon script in the users startup folder, would it hurt if it was run twice on some occasions?

Try running ChkDsk to check the drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Try it first by not checking either box (this will run it in a Read-only mode) to see if it flags any hard drive or file problems. If it does, restart it by ticking both boxes, and rerun it to allow it to attempt to fix any found problems.

Are they getting logged in with any Temporary Profile when the failure occurs?

You might find some better solutions if you post in one of the Server Forums too.

Thanks linney for the suggestions.

I have a copy of the login script located in a common area of a server and I run it manually when this happens.

No problems with the disk.

She is logging in with cached credentials, no problems, except for the mapping script not running. I have the printers mapped in that script, and the internet connection thru a proxy server also. It's an all purpose connect up script.

David.
