I have a small network of 6 Windows98 PC's connected to eachother thru a hub and thru a modem/router which is connected to a DSl line. The problem is that I cannot receive or send a fax unless I disconnect the phone line from the modem/router. I get a static sound when I pickup the fax phone, as if I'm already connected. The problem seems to be intermittent. Some days I can use both the internet, and the fax machine at the same time, and other days I cannot use it for 6 or more hours before it's okay. Shouldn't I be allowed to use the same DSL line on both my fax and network? Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a filter attached to your fax line? When I got my DSL service, they provided me with several filters to use on my non-DSL machines... Terry M. Hoey

Ever notice that by the time that you realize that you ran a truncate script on the wrong instance, it is too late to stop it?

A splitter is requires to seperate the voice and data. The filters that come with the self install kits do not always work. Get a splitter. The way a splitter works is you connect the line to tip and ring. Run the voice to your fax and the data to the dsl modem. #-) Jeter@LasVegas.com Remember to pass Cisco's CCNA you need at least an 849 to pass!!!
