We have a site we just moved 5 miles(with the system on our lap) within the same CO. The only difference is the lines run through a Slick.Verizon has changed cards supposedly at the CO & in the Slick.

This CICS 4.0,1- CI card. All lines are programmed the same, voltages & resistance are the same on or off hook at the demarc with a 2500 set or when a Norstar set grabs one.

POTS Dialtones (1,2,&3) are always present at Demarc with a Buttset or a 2500 set we can draw dialtone & dialout.

Through KSU L-1 will always draw dialtone & we can dial out every time. Moving this to Line port 2 & 3 we get the same results.
That is not our situation with L-2, & L-3; only intermittent dialtone(maybe 1 out of 30-40 tries) after hearing two clicks-battery only.

We have had a Vendor meet-they keep going back to it works on a 2500 set.

Anybody else run into a situation like this?

Sphoneman:

You mentioned moving line 1 to ports 2&3 and the ports work fine with line 1 so you know that the system is fine. Just two weeks ago on this formum I battled with SBC in Texas over disconnect supervision and after a week and a half convinced an engineer that they had a SLC96 problem. Escalate the problem beyond a POTS tech with a buttsets that can't see beyond a 2500 set and report the problem until you get resolution. If all else fails, issue a public service commission complaint! Hold your ground and as in these situations somehow it always is the CPE, at least that's what the telcos think.

One thing comes to mind, when you move Line 2 or 3 to Port 1, what happens?? Just curious if the trouble follows the lines to the known good port?

Thanks luv2ski- If we have to get sent back (2 hour highway drive each way) I'll give that a go also. I still feel with moving L-1 to any other port has proved the KSU is fine.

Thanks trabra-Yes, The problem follows L-2 & L-3 on any port.

I did request from the customers CLEC tech, that spent a day on site previously,(which they only resell Verizon POTS)to have the build checked. Verizon said everything was the same.

Go Figure. (FM)

The problem was resolved by replacing the CI card.

We still hear the dialtone delay, but everything works fine.
