Intermittant outgoing CLI change

Hi,

The 'pilot' DDI (we'll call it '123400') in our range is used by a certain department, and to avoid them getting loads of return calls I've set a default ShortCode to withhold all outgoing CLIs -
[tt]Code : ?
Tel : .W
Feature : Dial[/tt]

Then I've overridden that on each user with the following short code -
[tt]Code : ?
Tel : .s123456
Feature : Dial[/tt]

It works most of the time, however I'm intermittently seeing calls going out with the primary DDI from the range, instead of the specific one I've set.

I called my mobile phone from my desk phone about 30 times in a row, and about 5 of the times the wrong DDI (123400) was being presented.

It seems that if I use Phone Manager it'll always work as expected, but if I dial from the handset it'll sometimes fail.
Further to that, it seems if I dial slowly and carefully there's never a problem ; only when I dial the number quickly.

It seems to be some kind of timing issue with ShortCode recognition.

We're on firmware 3.0 (577) as we're stuck with the damn DT modules/handsets.

Has anyone ever come across a similar problem ?

Take a look at Monitor when you make your outbound calls and see which Short Code is being targeted. You'll usually see a line that says something like "resolve what we already have" and then the Short Code. If you are seeing anything other than ?, for example XXXXXXXXXXX then this would be your issue.

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for your suggestion. Even with all filters on ('cept the developer ones) this didn't come up, but I think I've identified the problem from some of the other logs.

Firstly, there's an odd LCR configuration which may well be interfering.
However, an ISDN trace shows the correct CLI is being passed on, but as we're using a multiplexer, it's possible that it's somehow stripping this off.

If removing the LCR doesn't sort it I'll do another ISDN trace on the multiplexer and see what that's forwarding on.
A firmware or config update should sort that.

The odd thing I noticed is that it's intermittent for 07 numbers, and always failing for 03 numbers.

If all else fails I'll speak to BT (obviously a last resort !).

Cheers.

Phatty.
