I have a CS1000 running Rls 5 issue 50 J software. Getting user complaints that when they place or recieve calls, intermittantly only one side can hear the other party. I am being told this happens on Internal as well as external calls. That being the case I don't suspect a problem with the trunks as it is happening on internal calls. I looked at the history file and found some BSD111 and BSD130 error codes. Neither of these codes are in the manual I have so not sure if they are related to this issue. Any idea what could be causing this and how to troubleshoot.

Thanks, Ski123

what type of system is it (physical, cabinet, chassis, msg, mmg etc)? are the complaints between cabinets? (or IPEs), if this system has MGCs with DSP daughterboards, then it might be the DSPs.....
what type of phones? (IP or TDM?)
what testing has been done so far?

This system has IPE shelves. Users with phones in mutiple network groups have reported the issue. It is intermittant though. Issue has been reported on both station to station calls as well as calls to/from the PSTN.These are all TDM phones.

Do you have dsp's in each ipe shelf. you could have a dsp problem.

Well you don't have DSP's in an IPE shelf running 5.5. Are you using IGS cards or Fiji cards? The real only way to track this down is to make it happen, keep the call up and do a trace on each user and see what junctor's etc. the call used. If using Fiji cards you may have a ring problem which would explain it happening across all IPE Shelvs

I am seeing these errors in the history file however the manual I have doesn't have these codes in it. Does anyone have a discription of these codes?

BSD130 s g j: loop1, loop2, loopn
The loop1, loop2, etc. could not be transmitted to group g through
junctor j of IGS cards.
Start at the first or most likely cause and go down the list until the
fault is cleared. If the fault does not clear, call your technical
support group.
1. The IGS card s can be faulty.
ACTION: Use STAT IGS x in LD 39 to get the status of the IGS
cards. Use ENL IGS x in LD 39 to enable any disabled IGS cards and
run TEST in LD 45 to verify that the fault is cleared. If the IGS card
does not enable and the fault does not clear, replace the IGS card(s)
by following the steps in the Hardware replacement guide. Verify that
the fault is cleared. If you need help with the commands or system
responses refer to the IGS chapter in this guide.
2. It is possible that an intermittent fault exists on group g,
particularly if this message appears from time to time specifying
different loops from one appearance of the message to the next.
Probable fault is cable from IGS s to Junctor or IGS in the same
position on group g.
ACTION: Replace the cable between the IGS card and the junctor by
following steps in the Hardware replacement guide. Run TEST in
LD 45 to verify that the fault is cleared. If the fault is not cleared, use
step 1 above to clear the IGS card fault If you need help with the
commands or system responses refer to the IGS chapter in this guide.

BSD111 g: loop1, loop2, loopn
The loop1, loop2, for example of group g could not transmit to any
other group. The probable fault is on the IGS cards in group g.
ACTION: Use STAT IGS x in LD 39 to get the status of IGS cards.
Use ENL IGS x in LD 39 to enable any disabled IGS cards and run
TEST in LD 45 to verify that the fault is cleared. If the IGS card does
not enable and the fault does not clear, replace the IGS card(s) by
following the steps in the Hardware replacement guide. Verify that
the fault is cleared. If you need help with the commands or system
responses refer to the IGS chapter in this guide.

When I try to run the Stat IGS 1 command I get an ISR003 message (illegal command) I also tried Stat IGS 2 and Stat IGS 3 and get same error code. Are the BSD codes I listed below pointing to a specific network group or loop?

% BSD130 16 1 4:136
%
% BSD130 18 2 6:136
%

They are not pointing to a particular network group if I'm reading it right. Do you have IGS cards or Fiji?

That's why your IGS commands aren't working. Fiji commands are in LD 39.

BSD0130 s g j: l1 L2 Loop(s) listed could not be transmitted to group g via junctor j of IGS card s.
This implies one of the following two faults:
1. The IGS card s is probably faulty.
2. It is possible that an intermittent fault exists on group g, particularly if this
message appears from time to time specifying different loops from one
appearance of the message to the next. The cable is probably faulty from IGS s
to Junctor or IGS in the same position on group g.
Action: The following actions correspond numerically to the fault locations listed
above:
1. Go to LD 39. Use the commands STAT IGS x and ENL IGS x to identify and
enable disabled IGS cards. If the IGS card cannot be enabled, replace it. Run LD
45 to confirm that the fault has been cleared.
2. Replace the IGS to Junctor cable and run LD 45 (BSD) again to verify the fault
is cleared
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BSD0111 g: l1 l2 ln Loops l1, l2, etc. of group g could not transmit to any other group. Probable
fault on IGS cards in group g.
Action: Go to LD 39. Use the commands STAT IGS x and ENL IGS x to identify
and enable disabled IGS cards. If the IGS card cannot be enabled, replace i

It might as easy as disabling the IGS and reenable the IGS
