Has anyone successfully set up an Intermec Easycoder 4400 label printer on AIX? If so, how did you do it? I have one, have a queue configured for it but cannot successfully print to it. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sending a file that has the proper control format for the printer? If you are not, what you will see is that the queue appears to be set up properly, and when the queue is down and you submit a job to it, the job posts to the queue, but when the queue is up, the job disappears and nothing prints, but the control information/format is not recognized and so the job is disgarded.

That is basically what we are seeing. The info being sent to the queue is coming from SAP - which I dont have access to. I will check with the SAP guys to see what exactly they are sending to it.

If you would like, I can send you a file that has the proper control format....the content maybe useless, but it will generate a print output that you can then be confident that the queues are set up correctly.

that would be great - eaddr is sbrews at gmail dot com

I sent you the file, but in case you didn't get it for some reason, create a file and paste the below into the file and send it to the printer. The label will just read "test label test label test label"

<STX><ESC>C<ETX>
<STX><ESC>P<ETX>
<STX>E4;F4;<ETX>
<STX>H0;o0,30;c28;f0;k15;b0;d3,Test Label Test Label Test Label;<ETX>
<STX>R;<ETX>
<STX><ESC>E4<ETX>
<STX><ETB><ETX>

Hmmm... dont see it in my inbox yet.

Just to clarify on what you posted:

do I enter <STX> (et al) as text (just as I see it above) or do I enter the actual ESC/control sequence?

Just copy and paste into your file as shown...
<STX><ESC>C<ETX>
<STX><ESC>P<ETX>
<STX>E4;F4;<ETX>
<STX>H0;o0,30;c28;f0;k15;b0;d3,Test Label Test Label Test Label;<ETX>
<STX>R;<ETX>
<STX><ESC>E4<ETX>
<STX><ETB><ETX>
