Hi,

searching the forun I found the following description xwb, which pretty much gives what I want to achieve, but cannot yet succeed to build:

1) Pop up a sort of explorer window
2) Navigate to a specified directory
3) Select a filename
4) Pass the filename back to your program

Unfortunately the further communications in this thread was somewhat limited ('Check DFLOGM manual') and I could not find out on how to procede.

I am using the Compaq compiler and in a multi-window Fortran application using clearwin.

Anyboby any hints ?

Thanks in advance

Norbert

I got it.

Just browsing through the examples provided with the compiler package I found a short prog that does exactly what I want, that is invoke the full Windows Explorer.

I do not understand how this works but it does.

If there is anybody interested I will look up the license of this prog and present it here.
