A client of ours wishes to expand their current membership system. The current system as an "events" subsystem that allows them record dates & times of telephone calls & letters sent.

They wish that all emails sent & received by a member be also recorded. Ideally they would want the actual email saved in the SQL database that holds the membership record. We have the email address for each member so tying them up is no problem, but they would like it as slick & automated as possible.

The code is Visual C++ compiled under VS6, but we can adapt ourselves to anything.

They use Exchange Server 2000 as a mail system

Anybody got any idea which technology to start looking at (MAPI/CDO/VS for Office, etc)?
