Here i am using two input devices connected through hub and i want to identify which data is coming from which device.
Both devices give text data i.e, both are barcode scanners. They are connected to com port via a universal serail bus hub.Any suggestion , clue or solution or altenative are grately appreciated.

How do you get the data from them in VB?

You must have a file open for each, or are you making API calls or something?

If you had an ActiveX object supporting them, you'd need two and can see each one's input event right?

As far as I know, every recognized USB device is assigned a unique device ID while the OS is running that session, so does anybody have an API that can get it? I did a quick search on Google for "usb api visual basic" and got a lot of choices to go through, but don't have real experience with it.

Is the problem more one of confusing which one is which? Seems like you'd HAVE TO be able to tell one from the other to use the data coming in, but maybe you want to know which is the one sitting left of your keyboard and which to the righht by manually addressing them somehow?
