Interdev themes on apache server with FP extensions.

I created a website using interdev. This site has themes that do not show up when the pages are viewed from a browser(even from IE5). I have not been able to find much specific information on making this work, although i have seen some articles that hint at themes being one area where VID and FP are not 100% compatible. The webserver is an apache server with front page extensions installed. I have also tried uninstalling the FP extensions and copying those directories to the server along with everything else. Neither way works. I also could not get VID's publishing mechanism to work I ended up FTPing everything to the server. Everything works except the theme is missing. Any ideas?
