interdev and com

I am having trouble adding a vbp project reference to my interdev project for debugging. I need to debug a component which is referenced from a .js page within an interdev project. When I choose Project->Project References in interdev I can see my vbp in the component list. I select my running vbp then begin to debug my interdev project placing a breakpoint where the vb class is instantiated but program flow does not move into the vbp from my interdev client-side debug mode. Instead, program flow continues in the interdev project. I have added vbp to other vbp but never an interdev project.
