Intercom usage

We have a legend R7 and have 8 MLX-10DP phones + 1 MLX-20L phone on the system. I have not been able to get the intercom feature to work. I can press the 2nd button from the bottom on the left side of the line selector keys, dial the extension I want, the handset will ring but I cannot get a tone at the phone I am calling nor can I pick up the call. What am I not doing? I connect to my Legend with the computer and WinSPM 7, do I need to program the phones for intercom usage?
 
Is the extension you are calling not ringing at all? Make sure it is not call forwarded somewhere else or in DND and following coverage. If you WinSPM, you can even do a print of extension info and it will show you.

When you say can't get a tone at the phone, are you actually trying to do a voice call and it is not working? If so, make sure the phone is enabled to recieve voice calls.
 
Also make sure that whoever programmed the switch originally did not change your default SA-Voice button to an SA-Ring button.
