Intercom not line 1

When a user picks up the handset on his phone a line is automaticly selected. How do I program it so an intercom is selected insted?

This is an Avaya Partner ACS R5 system with an 18D phone.

From Ext 10 or 11:

Feature 00
Left intercom TWICE
Right intercom once
Dial the extension nomber of the phone you want to program
Dial **
Left hand intercom
If you want, press the lines in the order you want them selected when dialing 9 on the intercom
dial **
