When using the the intercoms on partner 18d euro phones I have found that it's only possible to have one person talking at a time. The problem is that backround noise is getting picked up by the mics and I am unable to hear the other person due to the phone thinking I am talking. Is there any partner phone that will allow for two people to be talking at the same time without cutting off?

Hi guywithquestion,
Not that I know of. Hands free means one person talks at a time to eliminate feedback.

I'm guessing that you are using the speakerphone in your situation. All of the Partner speakerphones are half-duplex, which means that there is a switching mechanism that essentially does what you're describing. Generally in the industry, you'd need a "full duplex" speakerphone such as a Polycom conference room phone to avoid this trouble. Avaya does not make a full-duplex speakerphone for the Partner system, so 3rd party speakerphones are your only viable choice. They will work fine on the system - however you'll need to treat them like any other 2500-type set. No line keys or system hold or other "keyset" type features. Good luck

Almost all business system phones are half-duplex. There are a few full duplex but not for the Partner system. The reason for this is what was noted above. It is very difficult to make a full duplex speakerphone that does not have feedback problems.
Half duplex means that there is only one circuit for voice transmission. Signal is either going out or coming in, it cannot go both ways.
