partner ACS system has been changed over to a POOLED set up using pool 880 for about 10 sets.

I have noticed that the green intercom button is staying lit on some of the sets.

This is causing the ALS to no longer pick up on the intercom line first. Instead it will pick up on a pool button.

Now if I start pressing the other intercom button or a line button the problem clears and the intercom green button goes out and the set returns to normal.

Any suggestions on what is going on?

What modules make up the ACS configuration?
Did this condition start after the pool configuration?
What happens when you IC a set that has a lit IC button?
Have you checked the wiring?
Have you power cycled the system?
Have you tried one of the sets plugged into the control unit?

What modules make up the ACS configuration?
5 SLOT CARRIER: (1) ACS PRCO MOD, (1) 8 PORT EXPANSION MOD, (1) PARTNER MAIL MOD

Did this condition start after the pool configuration?
YES BUT, DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL THEY CALLED AND SAID THE BATTERIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BEFORE THEY HAD A SIMPLE 4 LINE SHOWING ON EACH SET.

What happens when you IC a set that has a lit IC button?
WILL TRY

Have you checked the wiring?
YES

Have you power cycled the system?
YES AND EVEN DEFAULTED IT AND REPROGRAMMED IT AGAIN. PULLED THE BATTERIES AND POWER CYCLED IT TO DEFAULT IT

Have you tried one of the sets plugged into the control unit?
NOT YET, THE INTERCOM STAYING LIT DOES NOT HAPPEN RIGHT AWAY

What version is the ACS processor, the 308EC, and the mail module?
Have you tried re seating the modules in the carrier?
The sets that have this problem, are they all on the same module or random?
Do you have an RAC/backup PCMCIA installed?
Have you tried to connect via Remote Access and check for system errors?
You might try it without the RAC/backup installed, they can and do go bad...
Is the ACS processor properly grounded per Avaya & NEC practices, and what about AC supply line?

I was there again today. Monday is a very buys day for them. They are a doctors office and the lobby was full of patients and the phone was ringing off the hook.

I will try to get there on Wed because they do not see patients then and I can take the Partner offline.

This seems to happen on ext 13 ( of all exts ) so I moved that 18D over to ext 21 which they are not using. They are going to let me know if they are still having this problem on 17.

Could 13 be a bad port? Maybe the contacts are touching inside the RJ45 plug on the PROC?
