Hi,
I need to intercept windows' Copy command.

I want that nobody can copy my CD. I presume that, issuing 'Copy' etc. command from anywhere, i.e. via Explorer, Dos Prompt, CD Copier, other languages etc. would be intercepting one main 'Copy' Command of the windows. I want that before that 'Copy' command starts, my little code should be executed. This is the only way I can copy-protect my CD.

Please help. Fast.

If you have other ideas, let me know.

Thank you,
Ams

Hi,
I think your way of thinking is not in the right direction... in that... you try to intercept the OS and disable copying....
But think... in CDR if you try just a CD copy... or for that matter... using xcopy.. or xcopy32.. or ncopy... or 1001 tools available to copy ... So this is not the right approach to restrict copying...
But I have my previous suggestions in some other thread.. which I am linking here..
Anyway you are the master of your situation/circumstances..
Having a consideration to the link below.. may be it gives you more idea...

I think you need to consider what the results would be of intercepting copying. It would have to be a TSR type of program which would be loaded when the computer booted; otherwise someone wanting to copy your CD would just need to reboot and then copy. But how would you enforce this? If nothing else, a person could put your CD in a computer which had never run your CD and make as many copies as desired. Ultimately, any such a protection scheme is futile. -- Dave
