I'd like to use the WhatsThisHelp button to do something completely different than its intended purpose. Does anyone know if it's possible to intercept when it is clicked and cancel the activation of Help, so that it can be used to do something else (open a new Form for example)?

Coo, Microsoft go to all this trouble over the years to standardise the interface so that people know without thinking what key does what, and you want to go and change them ...

Well, I'm not really that subversive :)

I just want some Beta testers to have a way to log their comments about different forms in an app, I thought if they could click the ? button and it would open up a feedback box it'd be a cool way for them to do it without me having to manually add a new button to each dialogue box.

Ok then - here's an overview: you need to hook the message queue and intercept the WM_HELP message ...

Just my 2 cent, I've had this sort of requirement before only show a certain form to certain people but there's no login. What I did was used a combination of shift + right-click on a form/label/logo etc to do the same thing.

I realise that you may not want to do it that way, what you're intending to do sounds interesting though.

Hope it works out,

Patrick
