We are currently looking at setting up a sizable acuate report. We would like to have parameters selected on a JSP page rather than the BSC. This however raises a couple of issues.

1) Can we pass session variables into Actuate? Basically if we had a JSP page and we wanted to pass secure info to an Actuate report can we?

2)Frames. Can we run an actuate report from within a frameset. I guess so as I beleive the navbar is a HTML Frame.

Thanks for any info,
Glenn

Hi Glenn:

Even i am currently integrating Active Portal (using JSP not .net). You can pass parameters to the report from the JSP but i think it should be part of the URL.

You can even access Session Variables in the report using Browser Script Control (BSC). I am currently trying to use the session variables in my report and is in reachable distance.

Yes, the reports are shown only in framesets (in Reportcast or in ActivePortal).

You can go thr' the Active Portal Documentation which is part of the Actuate 6.0 server.

Thanks

Arun

Arun,

How would you access the session variable within the browser scripting control in Actuate? Thanks.
