Intelligent updater? 1

We are using Symantec Corp 9 on our clients along with the system center on the server. The clients have been updating fine untill the other day when we suspected that we were receiving a virus that SAV wasn't detecting. I downloaded the inteligent updater and applied it to the server and it did detect the virus. Unfortunatly the clients don't seem to be updating anymore can anyone tell me why?

The first thing some virii do is to attack the antivirus software. Chances are your clients aren't running scans anymore either.
 
I'm fairly certain it didn't attack the server or most of the clients as i've scanned them with the trend micro online scan. I think it's to do with me applying the intelligent updater to the server.
 
Yes, if you d/l'ed and ran the *.exe updater it won't roll out to clients. You must use the *.xdb updates for products after v8.0.
 
Ok so in two days time when the next weekly live update is downloaded should that roll out to clients as normal?

At the moment i'm just getting 'Download of virus definition file from LiveUpdate server failed. 00000001' in the event log on the server.

I'm not sure. I know you can install the .xdb and it will get everything rolling again.
