intelligent Agents question

Hi,
Currently, I have been working on configuring Oracle9i management server, just wondered which computer I do need to install Intelligent Agent and how to install it in order to connect a client to the database. Please help.

short form :
Intelligent agent has to be installed on a server where there is something to observe ( db etc ).
make sure U did install the IA in the first places
on NT the IA is properly a service on unix use :
>>
h50:LAST:V9012 > agentctl

Usage:
agentctl start|stop|status|restart [agent]
agentctl start|stop|status blackout [<target>]
[-d/uration <timefmt>] [-s/ubsystem <subsystems>]

The following are valid options for blackouts
<target> name of the target. Defaults to node target.
<timefmt> is specified as [days] hh:mm
<subsystem> is specified as [jobs events collections]
defaults to all subsystems

Hi,

When I tried to start the agent it returns the following error.

bash-2.03# agtctl

Oracle Heterogeneous Services Agent Control Utility Release 8.1.0.0.0

(c) Copyright 1998, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

ORA-28591: agent control utility: unable to access parameter file
AGTCTL> startup
ORA-28592: agent control utility: agent SID not set

Please help me in this regard. Your help will be highly appreciated

Sorry that I am unable to help you in this regard because when I first started running the Agent, I did not encounter any errors like yours. Go to

to look for more information about the Agent.
