While looking for a cheap way for some of my people to view CAD files I discovered much more than I could imagine.

IntelliCAD was written by Visio to compete with AutoCAD. When Microsoft purchased Viso they were not interested in the product. Visio helped set up an open source group to advance the product and released the source code to them. The new product IntelliCAD 2000 is now released. The core product (which is minus licensed technologies) is available for FREE download from <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> full professional version which is R14 compatible and can even do 3D photorealistic rendering can be had for as little as $99.00. More info is available at <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> I don't see a good reason for our shop to continue spending thousands per person for AutoCAD.

Check it out, save money (send me a percentage of your savings ;-) )
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most ...

Fabulous, MasterRacker! The money's in the mail.

<a href= plain black box
I am very impressed with this software. I terms of speed if leaves Acad2000 miles behind, choking in the dust. It has many easy functions that can only be performed with multiple operations in Acad.

At that price, we can roll it out company-wide for use as a viewer for the drawings on the company intranet!

On my desk, it's going to replace Acad2000. It looks like a superior product. AutoDESK has finally found some killer competition.

<a href= plain black box
I love to watch the command line box display what im doing in really cryptic programming terms, it makes my boss think im a lot more productive!

Only faults here are lack of user testing. This really is so much like CAD that its really nothing like Visio.
