I'm confused. I need to be able to remotely troubleshoot desktops & laptops. Intel's VPro chipset/certification allows for remote bios level troubleshooting of off or even DEAD desktops & laptops. Here's my question; what else does this? The VPro option winds up adding a few hundred to each unit because you must upgrade to an Intel NIC and a level i5 processor or higher. I'm doing a 20K job for a library thru DELL (I'm a Dell Partner)and the desktop/monitor & laptops are coming to $1200 & $1400 respectfully. I figured they'll cost half if I can do something other than VPro.
Also - could anyone who has hands on experience let me know how well (or not) VPro works? How about with dead laptop over WiFi?
