Hi All,

I have Compaq Evo N610c P4 Pentium M 2.4GHz laptop computer; however, it operates only at 1.2GHz. I know that it should operates at half speed when laptop computer works with battery power but it should work at full speed when it plugged into power adapter.

Windows XP SP1 and latest BIOS installed but still no lack.

According to Intel web site, SpeedStep technology incorporated into Windows XP and there is no software out there to change its behavior under Windows XP.

Do any of you guys know how to tell XP that you should operate at full speed rather than half speed.

Many thanks and happy holidays

Rudy

On the laptops i have worked with it's selectable.
"battery optimized" or "full power" (from systray).
Yo may also have to reprogram the power options ,
depending on drivers and laptop type .

Control Panel, Power Options, adjust your Power Profile.
