If you can not boot due to a message stating a particular file is missing or corrupt and the repair options do not remedy or "last know good" is not an option, reverse the data cables on the drives; there is a very chance the OS will boot at this point.
On a number of my client's machines, the recent Explorer 8 updates cause this to occur. I assume the machine shut down/rebooted before a write was complete ( MS screwup). The incomplete write affected the drive the machine seeks to boot from, but since the write was incomplete, luckily the corruption is not written to the mirrored member. Once booted the member disks will synchronize, there will be a slow down for awhile. Sure beats a lengthly repair.
