I currently have a intel pentium 4 processor 3.0 ghz and a Intel Desktop Board- D925XECV2.
I was wondering if anyone else had close to this and if they could tell me there running temp, or what they belive is the true, reccomended running temp and max load temp.
I have 3 out Fans, 1 intake, in a Scorpio Mid Tower Casing
Thanks for your help.

I have an ASUS P4P800-VM MB with a retail P4 3GHz prescott cpu.

At idle CPU runs about 41 deg C and board temp is about 35 deg C.

At load cpu will get close to 50 deg C.

wetwily555,

I run in the area of 35-45 degrees C and believe that the sensor is off by about -3 degrees C. These sensors can be very inaccurate.

As a general rule; you should attempt to get your system CPU running at about `10 degrees above the ambient case temp. And strive to get the ambient case temp as close to the outside the case temp as possible.

Hey Willy!

I'm on running 540J P4 3.2Ghz on a Asus P5GD1

Idle:
CPU - 43C
CASE Interior - 37C
BOARD - 35C

Load:
CPU - 65C
CASE Interior - 44C
Board - 42C

I concur Rvnguy ,I Don't know how accurate these readings are of mine. If I ever get one of those laser thermometers!

Those work awesome for this kind fo scenario.

Take er Kewl!

Here on my Asus p4p800E de luxe bord with a P4 Prescot 3.4 Ghz chip

Room temp 32-35 C
Bord Temp 37-39 C
Cpu idle 45 C
Cpu 100% load 55-57C
8 hard drives
2 dvd burners
Fan standard Intel.

However the tower case uses 8 fans.
The large amount of intake and excaust fans were necessary due to the high room temperature.

I forgot to mention that this temps were measured with a digitemps laser termometer. I had to be very quick. As soon as I take the side cover off the temp increases dramatically and the cpu can reach my 69.2 C shutoff point. Also the bord heats up to 49 to 55 C. So I can not use that particular system without the side covers.

Currently my idle runs at about 40-45c
and when i have a huge load i run at about 50-57c
and thats an overall average of zones and processor temp.
do you think that this is alright? or is it running too high?

wetwily555,

These appear to be acceptable temperature ranges. 50-57C is not out of the question under load (like Games) with the Proc you have.
