Is it just me, or are intel's graphic drivers the worst drivers I have seen in a looong time? The latest intel drivers for 845G video crashes during installation on an IBM NetVista (freshly restored WinXP), both IBM's version and intel's installation software. Had to grab an earlier version for the installation to complete.
Then on a Gigabyte 845G motherboard with the current drivers WinXP sticks the machine into 640x480 16colors mode and I couldn't work out of it no matter what. Uninstalled those and went to the drivers provided by the Gigabyte CD, and the drivers work fine, but the control panel applet crashes when trying to load. I ended up sticking with these drivers, and just deleted the .cpl file associated with them.
Am I just seeing random back luck, or are intel graphic drivers really this terrible?
