I'm setting up a new Dell GX520 box with our standard image. After installing the Intel graphics drivers and rebooting, I get a gray square where the login box should be. Uninstalling the video driver in safe mode is the only way to get back to a regular Novell login box. I'm using Novell client 4.83SP1, but later client versions yield the same result. I've not seen this problem posted anywhere else and am stumped. Have tried different versions of Intel's 82945G driver. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Not sure if this will help you, but the GX520 has a new chipset that is different than other dell models. I'm surprised you got the image to work at all. You will probably need to add the right drivers into your image or make a new image with the drivers in place. I have yet to be able to get any other dell image to work on a 520 perfectly, even when I add the drivers into the original image.

I have found a workaround to this problem. The gray box is where the nwelcome.bmp bitmap should be - press Ctrl+Alt+Del to login. I went into GPEDIT.MSC and found the setting 'disable requirement of CTRL+ALT+DEL to logon', changed it to enable, and I'm in business. Hope this helps someone else who might encounter this issue. The box is running W2K Pro SP4, and I'd tried multiple Novell client versions yielding the same result.
