I'm testing an Intel 56K V.92 PCI DATA/Fax/Voice Modems based on the Intel 536 ep chip. THe board is installed on a system running XP Home and the drivers successfully install. Using Hyperterm we are testing the feature to see if the Local phone (connected to the modem) is on/off hook. First the voice mode is enabled using AT+FCLASS=8. We confirm the Local phone hook status is enabled using the AT+VEM? command to check that bit 8 is set. Now we enable the Local phone with AT+VLS=2. However we never see the <DLE>H when the phone goes offhook or <DLE>h when put back on-hook. We do see a <DLE>R for each ring on the phone ALso If we select the Telco with AT+VLS=1 we see the <DLE>d for dialtone and <DLE>R when the phone rings. Does anyone have experience in this area? There may be a configuration that is blocking the status?
