I got a Intel 2200BG built-in notebook, but for my 2 AP wireless network with same SSID, my wireless adapter will switch on these 2 AP periodically even another one has only a weak signal.

I doubt if this is the bug in windows XP Home or the driver itself.

Might switch if someone interupts the signal of the strongest access point say with a 2.4ghz cordless phone.

did i miss something what are the AP's

The most overlooked advantage to owning a computer is that if they foul up there's no law against wacking them around a little.

my friend with another brand wireless adapter can connect to the stronger singal AP steadily.

my notebook model is Acer TravelMate 3000.

The settings for the 2 AP is for romaing purpose, but seems my notebook is like to switch between them even the far one has only 5.5Mps transfer rate if connected.

thanks, is sp2 loaded to your acer?
are the 2 access points the same model??
are the access points on the same channel if so place them at the opposite ends say 2, 10...

yes, is sp2, 2 ap which are same model from 3com, it happned in both same channel and 1,7 channel (since I got another far far one with 11 as channel)

I doubt if I can hack to windows that I can force windows to remain to the stronger signal one.

look at the freshhold for dropping the ap signal that it has aquired, some ap's dont let you drop some are set for 10% etc...

Stand up wherever you are, go to the nearest window and yell as loud as you can, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.'
