Integration of AD with my web site?

I developed an educational web site. And I need to know that is there any method to integrate Active Directory with my website. Let me tell you my scenario.

I have win2k server (domain controller ) with Active Directory. And my web site is hosted at my web server, which have also win2k server at same LAN. I have a plan to give 5 mb web storage to my students. Now I will take their passwords and will check against my active directory if he is valid user then I will let him/her upload their files.

Any body who can help me?
