Integration Manager install problem

I'm trying to utilize the integration manager for the first time on Dynamics 10 - sp 3. I have installed it and regestered it, and can run it free standing, but when I put the quick start tutorial program together and try to run it, I get a "destination instance is not valid". Also in GP, the tools>integrate>integration manager menu is faded out, can't select it.

Any suggestions?

I'm on GP10sp1. I also have to run it free standing. My GP tools menu has Integration manager grey out as well. But it does work.
Are you not able to open the quick start pdf? or is your error when you try to run the Intergration?
GP has to be open in the company you want to Integrate into.
