I'm setting up a new machine and we have 3rd party software that communicates to Accpac 5.1A thru Integration Access Paks. However, I cannot get the software to connect on the new machine. It is the same licence as another machine on the network - the other machine is being replaced and is not connected while I'm testing the new machine..

Is there something special to do in order to facilitate this?

Explain what you mean with "cannot get the software to connect on the new machine".
Can you run Accpac on the new workstation?
There is nothing special to do, the IAPs are used when the app connects to Accpac.

Yes, Accpac is running and linked to our data. The 3rd party software is not linking to Accpac in order to transfer data back and forth.

If there is "nothing special to do" I suspect the issue is with our 3rd party software.

Thanks
Tracey

I would suspect so as well.
One thing you can do is open Accpac and click Help, IAP users and check the box "This workstation uses...". This does not really make a big difference, but who knows?

Solved!

It was the XAPI32.DLL file in Accpac\Runtime folder. For some reason, it was dated 2000 and the one on my laptop is 2003. Once it was updated, it worked like a charm!

Thanks,
Tracey

You may be missing the System Manager service pack on that computer.

Thanks, Ettienne.

I wondered if this may be a bigger "issue" but decided to leave it until Monday! I will (re)install the service packs we have and hopefully that will eliminate any other issues.
