I have been doing some research and am finding a lot of mixed information.

Here is what my team whats to accomplish using Microsoft Project:

I am in charge of coming up with a method for tracking all the tasks and assignments that are going on throughout our entire team, to track progress, due dates, etc. This will also keep track of our group/team meetings and whatnot. So it is really a "schedule" of everything for our team. They want me to be able to come into meetings and show what we are (and who) working on, how much is done, when its due, what is coming up (both tasks and meetings), etc.

What they want me to do is somehow integrate those meetings with outlook so that we can send out meeting requests based on our input into Microsoft Project.

I currently have Microsoft Project Standard. Is there a way to do all this using Standard or is it a must to get Professional? And if I get professional does that also mean I have to get Microsoft Project Server?

Thanks
