Hey guys. Need some help.
I have a CME 3.1 on the 2851 platform

I also have 4 VG224's i have to connect to it

My knowlege is pretty limited on the CME. I have Basic IP phones working as well as unity. I just cant seem to figure out how to integrate the 2 items. Ive seen a way to do it with SCCP where the Callmanager router actually controls the VG224 but i cant find definitive documentation. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

I don't think a CME can control a VG224. Check on CCO for support.

The only thing I thought of is if you could set it up as H.323, put VIOP dial peers pointing the DN's at the IP address.

thx for the response. I have tried setting up voip dial peers. when i dial the dn from an IP set i get "unknown number" and then reorder

Telecomatt,

Make sure you setup the voip dial-peers from the CME as well.

Let me see if I can hack together a sample config - let's say your handsets are 1000-1999, and you want to add the vg224s in the 2XXX range. We'll say VG224 #1 (192.168.1.150) is going to be 2100-2123.

CME (192.169.1.140):

dial-peer voice 2000 voip
description this routes calls FROM CME to VG224 #1
destination-pattern 21[1-2][0,1-3].
session target ipv4:192.168.1.150

VG224 (192.168.1.150):

dial-peer voice 2100 pots
description this routes calls FROM anything to port 1
destination-pattern 2100
port 1/0/0 <-DOUBLE CHECK THIS*

*I don't have a vg224 handy, but issue a 'show voice-port' or 'show voice port' command from the enable prompt and you should be able to determine what the right port numbering is. Hope this helps! Note: this is the configuration for CME->VG224 calls only and you'll need to add more pots dial-peers into the vg224 to connect the rest of the ports. Kind of a pain in the ass initially, I suggest doing it all in notepad and copying/pasting to speed it up.
