Integrating Cisco Unity with 81C 25.40:

2616 sets emulated to the PIMG box. Followed the procedure as per Cisco guidelines:

2616 ports are hunting/fwd'ed to the next port and so on. When trying to retrieve message from a Nortel set it works fine when it lands on the first port. The Cisco Unity does not recoqnize the second call that comes to it as it has the forwarding/hunting information on it i.e : xxxx HUNT xxxx. This results in genric message rather than asking for mailbox password or so to say "PIN" in Cisco's terminology. Anybody knows what could be the solution? Is it some config issues?

Have even tried with a dummy ACD queue forwaring to the first 2616 port but same results. Have not tried the third method (GHT)mentioned in the Cisco guide as it needs pkg 120.

Thanks in advance,

We just went through this exact same thing with Unity Connection and Opt61C. Exact same thing. We finally set up the 2616 ports in a 'broadcast' Hunt group, rings all the stations at the same time. The Nortel guy called it a 'poor man's hunt gorup'. Not sure why.

Incoming calls seizes all the ports but only for a brief moment then Unity answers one of them and all the rest go idle again.

Really appreciate your answer on this. But there would be a possibility of VM users encountering busy signals with this (broadcast hunt) setup. At your site you installed is there any such complaints? I see a section on "CPID" in the integration guide. Does this need to be programmed for this particular issue or have you tried the CPID manipulation?

Thanks again,

Pradeep

Since trunk 1 was working perfectly, we did the bradcast hunt group. I suppose there is a small possibility of getting a busy but the users would have to hit it at the exact same time. My customer went from 3 trunks to 8 trunks so they probably were getting busies occasionally and wouldn't report it. There are about 150 users.

We tried a manipulation in the PIMG card but it really screwed things up.

Thanks pndscm for your inputs!!! Really valuable
