We have deployed Sharepoint Portal Server on an extranet with Integrated Windows Authentication. However, users with reader role are unable to logon. They are prompted for their user-id and password again and again. If they are changed to Co-ordinator role, it works fine. SPS has been deployed on a computer with Windows 2000 server and local user groups are being used. Has anybody else faced this problem with reader role?

Yes, same "problem" here.
But "anonymous" users can access the website nevertheless by bypassing the login-screen by pressing the "Enter"-key.

We also had this problem. The only solution we could find (and this came from a MS programmer) was to use the Coordinator role rather than the Author role.

I have the same problem but it only seems to happen with XP. Has anyone found a solution for this problem. In addtion I am unable to open any documents.
