I'm attempting to integrate ICverify credit card processing software with VFP 9. The first problem that I've run into is with the card swipe device. I set up a simple form with a text field to hold the contents of the swipe. When I swipe a valid credit card I get the correct information from the magnetic strip but the form imediately terminates. None of the methods seem to be fireing. Any ideas?

The first thing I would do is to try to work out if the problem is caused by the swipe device, or is something within your form.

What happens if you simply type the number in the text box? Do you seem the same behaviour? If so, then the problem has nothing do with the swiping.

Also, try typing the number and then press the Enter key. Does that make a difference? The point is that the swiping software might add a carriage-return or line-feed to the end of the string, and that might have an effect. If that is the case, check to see if you have a button on the form with the Default property set to .T. If you have, then set it to .F. and see if that makes a difference.

Perhaps you could try the above and report back.

Mike

After a lot of expiraminting with the settings for the card swipe reader, I found that if I only read track one from the credit card VFP works as expected. Since all I need is track one, problem solved.
