We have maxed out our main Altigen System in terms of physical hardware, we have i think 136 extensions on this system, mixed IP and physical exts. We recently purchased a new second altigen system, to add extra exts and phone lines. Forwarding calls via IP truck between the 2 systems is not a problem and we already have a number plan in place to enable 1xx,2xx,5xx,6xx exts to reside on one system. and 3xx,4xx exts to reside on the second system. Dialing an ext on either system will make it to the correct place. Out call routing is also been solved fairly easy.

Now for our problem. We still need to beable to park calls on one system and answer them on the other system if the ext trying to pick up the call resides there. Is this possible? We have tried dialing #41 on other system via the trunk but it seems to just ignore the #. we have tryed dialing an ext that forwards to #41 no luck either. we have exhausted all possiblities at this point and need validation that it is either not at all possible or any work arounds that someone else may have. We considered using a Tie Trunk but we run in to the problem of not being able to add another T1 card to our maxed out system. Both systems are running Altiware OE 5.0A Update 4. Thanks in advance.

There isn't a direct way to accomplish this...

You should be able to add more IP phones, however... IP Phones are expensive, but they take up less real-estate in the chassis... :)

Sounds like you've already purchased another switch though.

You might also be able to set up some H323 trunks as "Mobile Extension" trunks, point your users to those (if they're picking up a call from an extension on the other switch), and then have them do a #41 or #31 (depending on the type of park). I've never set VoIP trunks as mobile before, however.

Hrm. You might also be able to send them to a "line park" on the remote switch -- you could point incoming calls to a certain extension to a line park. The user could then pick up the line park... perhaps. Create a series of extensions on each switch and point them to line park groups with one line park member each... Users could then pick up line parked calls using #51+Park Number. That's a bit confusing -- let me know if I can clarify.
