Any ideas, anyone?

Please. let's help one another, not hinder.

Need more info (i.e, which sp, what were you attempting to do)

ok, I'm trying to install SP5 for Novell 5.1 and it stops at this point.

Can you help? let's help one another, not hinder.

You need to use an ADMIN or equivalent user ID in order to extend the Schema. My guess is that you are using a user with insufficient rights. -----------------------------------------------------

Dear TheLad,

I had the same problem and I am using admin - and
THERE IS NO ADMIN BESIDES ME !!
The only way I could go on installing the SP5 was to press Enter twice, when I was asked to log in with the appropiate Rights. But I am not shure, if the SP has finished completely as it stop rather fast after pressing Enter.

Had you disabled login prior to installing the Service Pack? If so, that is why it cannot update the schema because it has to login in order to do it. If not, post back. -----------------------------------------------------

Sorry TheLad - what do you mean with "disabled login" - is it a questions the system posts while installing the SP ?
I think I didn´t do anything like that.

Rudi,
I managed to get it to work by using the following user name configuartion:

If your admin name is admin, you have to put a . before it followed by another . and then your container name.

e.g.

.admin.organization

Thank you Jim

That´s what I forgot - now it worked.
