anyone have a good set of instructions for gimp?

I learned on the macromedia suite and I miss the drop & drag features but gimp has surpassed my older version of macromedia. Any help appreciated.

Have a look at the book "Grokking the GIMP" which is available both in print and online at several websites. I think it only covers GIMP v.1, but it should give a good grounding.
