I am a 22+ year manager and desktop/network/sw/hd engineer. I'm doing a research paper for my networking degree on some of the various network security issues we face today, and my subject is "instant messangers".
Personall and professionally, I can't stand them -- they are humoungus and proven network security issue. I would like some feedback from fellow colleagues on what kinds of issues you've encounted with IM's (instant messanger's) and what solutions to implemented/recommended to resolve those issues.
All perspective from net/sys admins, programmers, managers, net/hw/sw engineers, change mngmt, to cio's are welcome -- anyone with hands-on experience and ovesight responsibilities.
if you could also offer feedback on the impact of decision-makers and other leadership in or out of the IT department in your organization terms of their support/cooperatation and/or the lack there of, and if none, what work arounds have you tried to assit you in overcoming these obstacles taht would be great as well.
do feel free to reply off-forum if you like to: tcompgrp@ceva.net.
thanks very much in advance for your time and input.
ciao,
jerri
